NEET Paper Analysis 2020
NEET is a medical entrance examination conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) annually. It is a single -level entrance examination, enabling medical aspirants to seek admissions to the undergraduate medical/dental courses, at colleges, and institutes including those governed by any other law across the country. Therefore, admissions to MBBS courses in AIIMS, New Delhi, JIPMER, and all AIIMS like institutes will be done through NEET. NEET 2020 is scheduled to take place on 13th September 2020.

Increase in the number of aspirants
Over the years, it has been witnessed that there has been a sharp rise in the count of candidates participating in NEET. Where NEET 2018 saw nearly 11.4 lakh students, the number of candidates appearing for NEET 2019 was close to 13.5 lakhs. This escalation can be attributed to the increasing number of states that are opting for NEET scores as opposed to other common entrance tests conducted at the state level to seek admissions in the field of medicine.
Some other reasons are a rise in the number of candidates clearing 12th Class board exams, policies, different schemes, scholarships offered by the government. Also, the count of seats presented has increased – from 60,000 this time it is estimated to cross more than one lakh.

Percentage Distribution of Questions
Syllabus for NEET includes topics studied in class XI and XII. According to the paper analysis for Physics, Class XII syllabus carries more weightage than Class XI syllabus. Therefore, candidates must give more time to the topics included in Class XII syllabus.
Most of the High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions are also from Class XII chapters. However, a lot of tricky and conceptual questions are asked from the class XI syllabus. The graph depicts the percentage wise distribution of questions asked from topics studied in class XI and XII:
NEET Exam Paper Pattern
NEET is a pen-paper based offline test. This objective questions-based exam is carried out for 3 hours with the following division of marks for each section.
