The place value of numbers in the millions is as follows:

For example, the number 123,456,789 is read as “one hundred twenty-three million four hundred fifty-six thousand seven hundred eighty-nine”.

The millions place is the first place value to the left of the ones place. It is the place value of a number that is a multiple of 1,000,000.

So, the millions place value of the number 123,456,789 is 1.

  • There are 7 hundreds of thousands = 700 000 (700 thousand)
