[a] Traditionally, when we have an equation for y, in terms ARI of x, then y is the dependent variable, and ox is the independent variable. This means that y simply depends on the value of x. So you could control the x value if you want to alter y.
However, in the real-world, people may be looking at some 2-variable data, and may not know which variable depends on the other. So an x-on-y regression line may be appropriate.
Calculation: Same GDC process, but switch what you select for the x & y list.

[a] So if you are given an x-value, and need to estimate a y-value from that, then you must use the x-on-y regression line.
